If you have always wanted a straighter smile but dislike the thought of conventional braces then Invisalign could be the treatment for you.
What is Invisalign?
Instead of visible brackets and wires, Invisalign uses removable aligners made from a clear, BPA-free plastic. These aligners fit tightly over your teeth, forming a nearly invisible skin as they gently yet firmly reposition your teeth.
Who Can Have Invisalign?
This versatile aligner system can treat a wide variety of orthodontic problems including overcrowding and incorrect bites and it can help close or minimise unwanted gaps in between teeth. You must have strong and healthy teeth and Invisalign may not be suitable if you have complex orthodontic issues to correct. An initial consultation with our dentist here at FamilyONE Dental will quickly determine your suitability.
What is the Treatment Process for Invisalign?
After assessing your teeth and jaws, our dentist will take photos, impressions and x-rays of your teeth. Using Invisalign’s specialised software, they will carefully plan every stage of your treatment. This process produces 3D images of your teeth, giving you the opportunity to preview your new smile before you even wear your first aligner. Each set of aligners is worn for two weeks before you progress to the next set. You can remove the aligners for eating and for brushing and flossing but ideally, they should be worn for 22 hours each day. Treatment continues until your teeth are in the correct positions.
