Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

What is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)?

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides eligible families with children aged 2-17 years old with access to a benefit of $1000* for eligible dental services over a 2 calendar year period.

What treatment does the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) cover?

The CDBS provides benefits for a range of dental services including

  • dental check-ups
  • X-rays
  • teeth cleaning
  • fissure sealing
  • fillings
  • root canals
  • tooth extractions

Benefits are not available for orthodontics or cosmetic dental work and cannot be paid for any services provided in a hospital.

Who is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)?

The CDBS continues to be means tested, which requires of Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment.

Your child is eligible when:

  • they are eligible for Medicare
  • they are between 2 and 17 years old for at least 1 day that year
  • you or they get an eligible payment at least once that year.

*Free when services covered by the Commonwealth Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule are bulk billed by participating Practitioners for treatments provided to eligible patients.


AfterPay is a payment plan with four (4) equal installments. AfterPay installments are due every two weeks. Availability is subject to approval and AfterPay may not approve your order if you have overdue payments. You may be eligible for AfterPay orders if you:

  • are 18 years or older
  • have an Australian mobile number
  • a verifiable email address
  • a valid Australian delivery address
  • have access to a Payment Method e.g. a Card holder
  • use your real name
  • more criteria listed in AfterPay Terms of Service

National Dental Plan (NDP)

National Dental Plan (NDP) powered by Certegy Ezi-Pay makes the highest quality dental treatment more accessible. With NDP you could start up to $9,000 in treatments today and spread the cost over easy to manage fortnightly payments, best of all, you pay No Interest Ever!

One of the great benefits of NDP is that you never pay interest on the amount you owe. You will pay an establishment fee of $70 to set up your account, and this is payable over the term of the plan. There is a monthly account keeping fee of $3.50 which will be direct debited whilst your account remains active and a $2.95 payment processing fee that is included with each fortnightly payment. You know exactly how much you will get charged as long as you stick with your payment schedule – No Interest Ever!

Veterans’ Affairs

All Gold and White Veterans’ Affairs cardholders are entitled to subsided dental treatment. We bulk bill DVA cardholders for most dental treatments. We claim directly from DVA so you don’t have to pay upfront. To be eligible for dental services, you must hold a Gold or White Repatriation Card. Gold and White Card holders are eligible for different dental treatments and there are some restrictions under the DVA Dental Schedule. These restrictions may be annual monetary limits, pre-approval requirements for some dental services, and/or limitations on the length of time that must elapse before a service can be claimed or reclaimed.

Health Funds

We welcome members of all private heath funds for treatment. With our HICAPS terminal linked to over 46 private health funds, you can claim your benefits instantly with a swipe of your health fund card. For health funds participating in the HICAPS electronic claims system, we can process your rebate on the spot and only the “gap” payment is required at time of treatment.

We are preferred providers for HCF. However we do accept all the health fund's cards and most participate with HICAPS online claiming.
