As a family oriented practice, we welcome children and our friendly dental team will always go that extra mile to make them feel at home, especially if a child is a little nervous or anxious. We aim to treat every child as if they were our own and we go out of our way to make dental visits as interesting and enjoyable as possible. This is extremely important to us because we know many adults have dental fears and phobias that began during childhood. By ensuring your child receives gentle and compassionate care, we can make sure this doesn’t happen to them. Our emphasis is very much on preventative dentistry as this is the best way to build a solid foundation of good dental health that will hopefully stay with your child for life.
When Should My Child First See a Dentist?
We like to see children when they are still very young and recommend parents arrange their child’s very first dental visit by age 1. This initial visit will involve a quick look inside your child’s mouth, but is more about getting them accustomed to seeing a dentist and all the new sights, sounds and smells associated with a dental practice. It’s your opportunity to ask us all the questions you may have about their dental care at home. We can provide lots of practical advice and help including demonstrations of how to clean their teeth.
If your child has yet to see a dentist then call us to arrange their first dental visit and let us take care of your family.
