Veneers are a very popular and minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry treatment that can improve the appearance of your smile. A veneer is a thin shell of material that will completely cover up the front surface of a tooth and it can hide many different imperfections.
Who Should Consider Veneers?
You may wish to consider veneers if you have teeth that are discoloured or internally stained and which will not respond to teeth whitening. Veneers can be used to hide cracks or chips in teeth or to create a more cosmetically pleasing appearance for a tooth that is too small or is a less than ideal shape. This treatment can close or minimise gaps in between teeth and can restore the size of teeth that are worn down.
What Are Veneers Made from?
We can make your veneers from tooth coloured composite resin that is applied directly to the front surface of a tooth before being shaped and polished or veneers can be custom-made from porcelain. Composite resin veneers are cost-effective and treatment may be completed in as little as one appointment. Porcelain veneers must be made in a dental laboratory and require a minimum of two appointments to make and fit them. Although a little more expensive than composite veneers, porcelain veneers do last longer and are resistant to staining.
