We encourage all our patients to visit us regularly for a proper dental examination. While most people will only need to see us every six months, some people with particular medical problems may benefit from more frequent visits. The frequency of your visits will be determined during your initial examination.
Why Do I Need Regular Examinations?
The main reason for a regular dental examination is so we can closely monitor your ongoing dental health, quickly detecting any small problems often before you feel any signs of discomfort. This is a huge advantage as we can provide the most appropriate treatment at an earlier stage so any procedures required are likely to be quicker, less invasive and more cost-effective while preserving more of your natural tooth structure. Regular dental examinations are also a great way to minimise your risk of dental emergencies that may develop if untreated tooth decay progresses into a bad tooth infection.
What Will Happen during a Regular Dental Examination?
During a regular dental exam, our dentist will carefully assess the health of all your natural teeth and your gums. If they do find anything wrong, then all possible treatment options can be discussed with you and you will receive a written treatment plan. Every possible treatment choice will be fully explained and questions are encouraged.
